The Real School of Music invites you to a special afternoon with The Joe Davidian Jazz Trio on Monday, August 6th from 4p-6p in the Real Room.

Attendees will enjoy a concert and masterclass discussion about Trio (piano, bass, drums) Interplay and Interaction in Jazz and Contemporary Styles.  The Trio will begin by playing an arrangement of a jazz standard and then open it up for discussion, demonstrate a few concepts, and conclude with playing a bit more. Any Real School of Music student ensemble with a jazz focus, and who has material prepared, are welcome to play a tune or two.

Joe, Jamie & Austin met in 2001 at the University of Miami where they were all working toward their graduate degrees in jazz performance.  They had an immediate musical connection and during that time had the honor of playing with big time jazz artists including Duffy Jackson, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Kevin Mahogany, Ira Sullivan, and many more.  They learned alot from these artists and have perfected their trio into a tight unit that entertains with original compositions and jazz standards with their own modern flare.  For more information on The Joe Davidian Trio, see their YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkZ1pIVvqKQ
