Determining the Correct Retirement Plan for Your Business

In this seminar you'll learn:

We will be providing a short update on pending legislation by the US Congress that could impact 401k’s and other retirement accounts (the SECURE Act).

We will be providing an overview of the different types of retirement plans available to business owners as well as the key features that should be considered when choosing a retirement plan for you and your employees.

We will also be providing an overview of the 401k program offered by the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce (this plan will be positively impacted by the SECURE Act).

If your business currently has a SIMPLE IRA plan or a SEP IRA, this would be a great opportunity to review the 401k benefit offered by the Cayuga Chamber to determine if switching to a 401k is right for your organization. Please note, for SIMPLE IRA plans, the deadline to terminate the plan is the end of October. Attending this seminar will provide you the due diligence to confirm the appropriate retirement plan for your organization with enough time to make a decision for possible changes (if appropriate).

Jeremy Caza is a partner with the Carta Group, a premier fee-based financial planning firm that works predominately with business owners or executive level individuals (decision makers). The Carta Group provides comprehensive planning services including financial independence/retirement, employer sponsored retirement plans, investment and tax planning, risk management, estate and Medicaid planning, business succession & business continuation planning, education planning, and executive fringe benefit planning.

Jeremy graduated from the University of Rochester in 2004 with a degree in Economics and concentrations in finance and marketing. He started his career in 2005 working with an advisory group at Lincoln Financial Advisors. Jeremy started his own firm in 2011 and quickly earned recognition from Lincoln as transitional advisor of the year. Jeremy has focused part of his practice on employer sponsored retirement plans and earned recognition from the Financial Times as one of the top 401k advisors in the country in 2015. In 2018, Jeremy was recognized with the 40 Under 40 award offered by the CNY Business Journal.

Although the Carta Group is based out of Syracuse, Jeremy resides in Auburn and services a number of businesses and individual clients in the greater Auburn /Cayuga County area. Jeremy was a past steering committee member of IGNITE and remains active in the Auburn community.
