Transparency Summer Camp in Las Cruces

The New Mexico Foundation for Open Government has partnered with the New Mexico Press Association, the Society of Professional Journalists Rio Grande Chapter and New Mexico In Depth to host Transparency Summer Camp: How to find and use government data online.

Join New Mexico In Depth’s premier data journalist Sandra Fish, along with FOG’s executive director Susan Boe, for a training seminar about following online government information to track campaign contributions and candidate spending. We will also examine how to use web-based databases, like the Sunshine Portal, to find and use public records. Finally, we will discuss recent Inspection of Public Records Act developments and how to fine-tune IPRA requests.

This FREE seminar will be specifically geared toward journalists, but members of the public are also welcomed and encouraged to attend. Though there is no charge for these camps, you must register at least 24 hours in advance of the training you plan to attend.

Scholarships for travel and accommodation expenses incurred by journalists are made possible by the Thornburg Foundation. Contact us at info@nmfog.org to request a scholarship or submit questions for the speakers in advance of the training.
