Come celebrate National Games Day! The Central Falls Library Chess Tournament is a scholastic chess tournament for children in grades K-12. Trophies will be awarded to the top players in each section which will be divided by age group. Join us for the fun and competition!
FORMAT: 4SS, G/25 d/5 Two USCF rated sections and two unrated sections:
-NOVICE
-AGE 14 and UNDER RATED
-AGE 14 and UNDER UNRATED
-OPEN (USCF RATED)* Students of any age may play (up to grade 12) with active USCF membership.For more information about USCF membership go to www.uschess.org or call 800-903-8723.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three players in each section.
Sections may be combined. This is a 4 round tournament but a small section may have to play 3. Full point byes may apply in odd-numbered sections and ½ point byes are available in any round pending early notification to the tournament director. Please bring chess clock if you own one.
DOOR REGISTRATION: At the door $25 entry fee. 9:00-9:40 AM. Round 1 starts at 10:00 AM. Others on completion of each round. Pre-registered players should confirm no later than 9:40AM. Novice and Age 14 & Under should finish around 12:30. Open section should finish around 1:30 or earlier.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION: Online entry fee $20. Scholarships available if needed on a case by case basis. Southeast New England Chess Association is a non-profit organization.
