SENECA MSGP Tournament 

The SENECA Massachusetts Scholastic Grand Prix (MSGP) Tournament is a chess tournament for players in grades K-12. Players in the Open, Age 14 & Under, Age 11 & Under, and Age 8 & Under sections may earn points toward the MACA MSGP. Time Control
4SS, G/25 d5 (everyone plays 4 rounds unless he or she gets a bye)

Sections:
Open (USCF rated and MSGP)
Age 14 & Under (USCF rated and MSGP)
Age 11 & Under (USCF rated and MSGP)
Age 8 & Under (USCF rated and MSGP)
Novice (UNRATED and not an MSGP section)

Note: a player in a USCF rated section has the option to play in a higher section. Any player in a USCF rated section must have an active USCF membership, which should be purchased online before the tournament at http://uschess.org/.

Prizes
Trophies to top 3 players in each section.

Byes
Byes must be requested in advance. Limit 1 half-point bye per player. Byes in rounds 3 and 4 are irrevocable and must be requested before the start of round 1.

Entry Fee
$25 online by 2/20 at 11:59 PM, $30 at site (cash or check only).

Onsite Registration
9:00 AM to 9:45 AM.

Advance Entry Check-In
Players who register in advance must check in onsite between 9:00 AM and 9:45 AM.

Round Times
First round at 10:00 AM. Others ASAP upon completion of previous round.

Other Information
1. USCF membership is required for players in all sections except the Novice section. This should be purchased before the tournament at http://www.uschess.org/.
2. This tournament is part of the Massachusetts Scholastic Grand Prix (MSGP), which is administered by the Massachusetts Chess Association (MACA). For more details on the MSGP, see http://www.masschess.org/scholastics/MSGP-Rules.aspx.
3. The Novice section does not count toward the MSGP. The other four sections are all MSGP sections.
4. Please bring a clock if you have one. Boards and sets will be provided.
5. Sections may be combined dependent upon the number of players.
