Painting with Numbers: Presenting Financials and Other Numbers So People Will Understand You

Have you ever had to communicate information that includes numbers?  Put together an annual report?  Grappled with the best way to present profit margins, growth rates, productivity, or market share?

In his new book, Painting with Numbers: Presenting Financials and Other Numbers So People Will Understand You, Randall Bolten shows that presenting numerical information coherently is a communication skill, not a math skill. It has rules, not unlike the grammar, vocabulary, diction, and paragraph organization we spent years learning. And like any other communication skill, how well you do it has a profound effect on your audience’s understanding of your narrative, and on your credibility.

Please join IABC Boston on Thursday, November 8 at 6 p.m. for an evening presentation by author Randall Bolten on how to present numbers clearly and effectively so your ideas and presentations resonate with your audience. During the session, you will learn how to:
  • Use visual effects to make your numbers meaningful and comprehensible
  • Use key indicators to add meaning and context to your numbers
  • Maximize the impact of numbers and avoid some deadly pitfalls in a PowerPoint presentation
  • Interact with your audience as a peer

All attendees will receive a copy of Randall's book, Painting with Numbers (a $39.95 value)! Light refreshments will also be served courtesy of Grant Thornton, who is hosting our event.
