The Ben Event 2015 - Volunteer Registration 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering. We sure could use your help! Please click on the registration button below to get started!

Planning is well underway for the next Ben Event to be held Friday evening, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at Macungie Memorial Park in Macungie, PA.  Since June 2010, when we began giving Ben Yorgey Memorial Awards, through June 2013, we will have given a total of over $50,000 to students with intellectual disabilities upon high school graduation. For last year's event, we had over 200 volunteers with whom we were privileged to work! Talk about teamwork and partnerships!

The 6th Annual Ben Event promises to be even bigger and better. We are changing things up ever so slightly and moving our Fun Walk to Friday night to kickoff our evening activities in the bandshell. Troy Hein will be in attendance Friday evening with the Special Olympics Softball Game beginning at 6pm.  Fun Walk participants will parade around the park and lead us into the bandshell where we will recognize and honor our 2015 Ben Yorgey Award Recipients!  Musical Guests, The Large Flowerheads will end the evening as we groove the night away.  We encourage all of you to attend and invite your Family and Friends as it simply wonderful and energetic, AND FREE, and sets the tone for the entire Ben Event!


Saturday of course offers the 5K Run, Kid's Runs, Fun Walk, Breakfast in The Park, Bear Swamp Derby, swim meet for athletes with special needs, Ben's Block Party in a carnival-type setting, and Ben's Super Raffle with wonderful baskets filled with fantastic items, and it all culminates with the Wheels of Time Cruise Night.

When you register here, you will see that we ask for your volunteer team preference. We will certainly consider your request, but may need to place you on the team best suited to our needs. Thank you for understanding. To learn about each event, please click here

Our volunteer commitment is typically a 2-3 hour shift, unless you request longer hours. That way you can enjoy all that the Ben Event has to offer with your family and friends. Your Team Leader will be contacting you to coordinate your individual volunteer time preference along with any special instructions for the day.  If you do have a time preference and/or special needs/accomodations, you will have the opportunity to let your team leader know.
