Grant Writing Essentials

With an increasing number of nonprofits competing for fewer grant funds, leaders must become more strategic, focused and creative.  Presented by the Greater Pine Area Endowment and Initiative Foundation, this fast-paced workshop will guide participants through the essential grant-writing skills -- how to connect with funders, distill a proposal, and avoid common mistakes that can sink a worthy project.
Katrina Pierson

Katrina Pierson, senior associate with HBH Consultants, will facilitate the workshop, followed by GPAE representatives offering insider tips and answering questions about their grant priorities.

BONUS!  After the main session, Initiative Foundation staff will also lead a discussion on what it means to be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.  Be sure to stay a little later if you've ever wanted to learn more about:

  • why - and exactly who- qualifies for grants,
  • what makes 501(c)3s different from other nonprofits, business associations and community groups,
  • what general legal and tax rules affect 501(c)3s,
  • how to - and if you should - become a 501(c)3 and alternative options.

If you have limited time or limited experience in grant-writing, this valuable (and free) training opportunity is designed for you.  Register today!

Deadline for registration is October 4th.
