We all have brains that shape who we are, but we also mold our brains by choosing how we live. Dario will help us explore and learn about this fascinating relationship between our brains and personalities. The two clearly connect! 

Dario will begin by showing case studies of people who identify as the same personality type but have different careers, and people who identify as different personality types but have the same career. We will appreciate how career and other aspects of our backgrounds – such as childhood schools, parenting, and developmental issues – impact our brain wiring and how our Types manifest in unique ways.

Dario will then move onto guiding us through comparing how we are now to how we were pre-adulthood. How often do we hear (and experience!) that our brains slow down as we age? This is “Type Development,” where we explore new, deeper sides of ourselves once we master our preferences. Often, we have competencies that we are no longer keen to use and new areas we wish to develop. This is a great opportunity to understand how our life changes relate to our backgrounds and careers.

The presentation involves an intermediate level of Type knowledge, but those new to Type are always welcome.

Dario Nardi, Ph.D., taught at UCLA from 1998 to 2012, and now teaches part time.  He cofounded UCLA’s Human Complex Systems program and won UCLA’s 2011 annual Distinguished Teaching award, among other awards. Dario gained MBTI ® certification in 1994 under Linda Berens. He is the president of Radiance House, and is the author or coauthor of numerous books including Neuroscience of Personality,  8 Keys to Self-Leadership, and The 16 Personality Types: Descriptions for Self-Discovery. He designed Personality Types and Love Therapy for the Apple iPhone / iPad. For the past 7 years, he has done hands-on brain research, and is an international speaker and trainer. Dario did his doctorate in systems science and his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. His interests include Japanese and creative writing.
