"Continuous Glucose Monitoring:  Practical Approaches to the Newest Technology in Diabetes" 1.0 CE

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Our program this month will explore a facinating advancement in the management of diabetes! 

Our Speaker will cover the following objectives. Discuss the FDA approved indications for use of the various CGM devices and the fundamental aspects of CGM technology. Review the FDA approved CGM devices currently available in the US, features of each system, product comparisons and how CGM features can be used to improve patients’ glycemic control. Describe the benefits of CGM as it pertains to certain clinical criteria and how real-time data can help improve glucose control. Review the accuracy data for each of the two CGM systems currently available. Identify the various clinical studies that demonstrate the clinical outcomes and improvement in glycemic control with the use of CGM.

OUR SPEAKER:

  Renee Taylor, MS, RD, BC-ADM, CDE

Renee Taylor is a Certified Diabetes Educator and Registered Dietitian with Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. She has over two decades’ experience in diabetes care and has spent the last 12 years specializing in the field of continuous glucose monitoring.  In her current role, Renee serves as a Medical Science Liaison for Dexcom®.  Renee holds a Master’s of Science degree in Nutrition with a minor in Biochemistry and is a national speaker on diabetes and continuous glucose monitoring.
