Markos D. Emmanouel, MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and by the American Board of Addiction Psychiatry. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Bates College in Lewiston, ME, and his Medical Degree at the University of Crete in Greece. He completed his Psychiatric Residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME, and his Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, CT. Prior to moving to Washington State, Dr. Emmanouel was employed at Bellevue Hospital and Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital in New York City.

"Multiple Sclerosis- Opportunities for Intervention and Care Coordination Throughout the Lifetime With Diagnosis" 1.25 CE
Megan McDaniel, LICSW
Megan has been working with people who have MS since 2006 and has been a social worker since 1998. She had her master’s Degree from the University of Washington in Social work and her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Gonzaga University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the State of Washington and utilize mindfulness, empowerment and transitional care coordination from a holistic person-in-environment perspective to support people with their goals. For the last 12 years she has worked part time in the role of an MS SocialWorker in an MS Center in Tacoma, at MultiCare Health Systems. In her free time, she enjoys being at home with her busy family: husband of 19 years and 6 children, ages 14-1.

"Understanding ALS and Advancements in Treatment" 1.25 CE

 Jennifer Johnston, RN, BSN, is the National ALS Program Manager with Option Care, Inc. In this position, she oversees all aspects of care for prospective and current ALS patients. Jennifer has 14 years of experience in the home infusion industry with positions including staff nurse, Nurse Manager, Specialty Clinical Coordinator, and Specialty Program Manager.

Jennifer is committed to ensuring excellence in patient care with a special focus on complicated specialty therapies and disease states such as hereditary angioedema and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Kendra Curry Howard, PharmD, is the Vice President for Product Development with Option Care Inc. Kendra has been in the home infusion industry for 17 years in roles including clinical pharmacist, pharmacy manager, branch general manager, specialty program manager, and corporate director of specialty infusion programs.

Kendra is the co-author of a number of poster abstracts presented at the American College of Gastroenterology, the National Home Infusion Association, and the Infusion Nurses Society related to parenteral specialty therapy in the alternate care/home setting.

Kendra is passionate about building and implementing high-quality, patient-centric programs that enhance access to parenteral specialty medications in the alternate care setting, including disease states such as ALS, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Hereditary Angioedema, HIV, Short Bowel Syndrome, and Women’s Health.

"Navigating Palliative Care. How to take care of Dementia Patients without Losing Your Mind" 1.25 CE 

Barbara Walker, MD

Born and raised in Seattle, Barbara first trained as a nurse at Seattle Pacific University.  She completed medical school at University of Washington and served her residency in Internal Medicine at UC Davis (Sacramento, CA). After returning to Seattle she worked at Group Health doing locums in 1990, later primary care and switched to nursing home services around 2003, then hospice in 2010. She currently lives in Bellevue and does half time hospice/palliative work and half time clinical review work.  
In her own words: "I like older people. I suspect I will be one of those difficult ("challenging") older patients, so I want everyone to be experts on managing cranky, demented elderly folks so you can do a good job taking care of me in my sunset years!"

"Poster Presentations" 1.5 CE

 Attendees will have the opportunity to earn 1.5 CEs by participation in the poster presentations at the exhibitor fair from 7:45am to 8:45 am, 10:15 to 11:00 am and during the lunch break. It take approximately 1.5 hours to visit 9 poster presenting booths and you must have 9 signatures in order to turn in your participant form and receive your 1.5 CEs. 

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL ATTENDEES.  Payment is due at time of registration either by credit card or commitment to send check payment.
