Speaker Biography

Johnathan Seeg, Managing Director, is the Global Head of Client Solutions and Strategy for BlackRock Private Equity Partners (PEP) within BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI).  With over 20 years of private equity experience, Mr. Seeg has primary responsibility for PEP's global strategy, business development and client service model.  Mr. Seeg's service with the firm dates back to 1999, including his years with MLIM, which merged with BlackRock in 2006.  From 2007 until 2014, Mr. Seeg was based in PEP's London office as a senior member of the Investment Team and the Head of the London office.  Mr. Seeg was responsible for sourcing and executing private equity investments across Europe, including primary funds, direct co-investments and secondary transactions.  Johnathan also led PEP's business development in Europe as a member of the BAI's EMEA Executive Committee.  From 2003 until 2007, Mr. Seeg was a principal on the investment team of Private Equity Partners and also managed the team's investor relations activities in the Americas. Prior to joining MLIM in 2003, Mr. Seeg was a vice president at Merrill Lynch where he held several roles in corporate strategy and was a member of the investment team for the strategic venture capital fund of the Global Wealth Management division. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1999, Mr. Seeg was an Associate at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) in global equities research. Mr. Seeg earned a B.S. degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also attended the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he completed the Advanced Management Program.
