SESSION INFORMATION:
Title: Things i-love about 7.5
Abstract:
In this session, I will give you a rundown of some of the new features that I personally love in IBM i 7.5 . IBM i 7.5 is new to us all but I'm one of the lucky few who have been using this new version for a little while as part of the Early Ship Test Program. I will share some of the things that I really like about this new release and explain how they might be useful to you. I'll also share my experience of installing it, upgrading to it and patching it.
Some of these new functions are big, some small but all are beneficial. Even if you are not in a position to upgrade to IBM i 7.5 right now, many have been PTF'd back to 7.4 and some 7.3 so they are still worth knowing about.
Title: How healthy is your IBM i?
Abstract:
We all know our favourite system is a tough cookie, it soldiers on day in day out with little support from us but how can you actually tell how healthy it really is?
In this session, we run you through a series of simple ideas that you can take away and try on your system. They will not only help you quickly gauge the current health of your system but also allow you to track changes in behaviour and help you to detect changes early and plan your future needs with confidence. In most cases we find that following these simple steps will not only improve the performance of your server but extend it's working life and reduce the need for upgrades.
