The Yakima Area Arboretum again hosts one of the grandest Luminaria walks in the Pacific Northwest on December 13 & 14 from 6 pm to 10 pm.
The entire family will enjoy a mile long pathway through the wintry landscape of the Yakima Area Arboretum lined with over a 1000 candle-lit luminary bags. Walkers will listen to the music of the Arboretum’s Carillon Bell Tour as they stroll through the twinkling lights of the Japanese Garden, then onto the Jewett Interpretive Center where they will enjoy steaming cups of Starbuck's coffee, hot Tree Top apple cider, hot chocolate, and tasty treats from the kitchens of Zirkle Fruit, live music performed each hour by various local artists, fun children's crafts, and shopping in the Tree House Gift Shop.
Hundreds of families return year after year making the annual Luminaria walk a magical and affordable holiday tradition. After 22 years, Luminaria continues to draw over a thousand visitors each night, and new features are added to keep it fresh and interesting. Children and their parents can’t help but be enchanted by this special event. The trail is relatively flat and designed to be used without a flashlight. Ample parking.
