Grow Your Own Orchids 

Yes! You can grow your own orchids.  Many people assume that to grow orchids you need to possess great skill and/or equipment.  Not true.

The Yakima Orchid Society will show you how easy it is for you to "Grow Your Own Orchids" during this Saturday, March 24 workshop.  The workshop is designed to teach the beginner/novice orchid grower some tips and tricks for growing these specialized flowers.

Workshop topics:

1. What makes orchids unique
2. The right media
3. Proper lighting
4. Fertilizing
5. Watering
6. Growing temperatures
7. When to repot

If you are currently growing an orchid(s) and would like some help on how to repot them or would like Orchid Society members to evaluate an orchid, please bring one (1) orchid with you to be repotted. The Orchid Society members will walk you through the proper steps.

Please, only one (1) repot per person.

Society members will be bringing blooming orchids for display/sale.
