Let's Get Growing 2016

Community gardeners, get growing at an informative workshop being offered in February by the Summit County Master Gardeners in conjunction with Let's Grow Akron, the Summit Food Policy Coalition, the Summit County Health Department and the Akron-Summit County Public Library. You’ll learn food-growing basics and get guidance on starting a community garden in Summit County. The workshop is tailored for community gardeners, but anyone is welcome to attend.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m.-3p.m. on Saturday, February 13 2016.  A light lunch will be included.

  • Soil health, composition and testing 
  • The advantages of raised beds 
  • Organizing a Community Garden
  • Seed Starting 
  • Composting

  • Crop families and rotation
