 Cindy Tibbetts

Topic: Clematis: Queen of Flowering Vines

Cindy and Brian Tibbetts, owners of Hummingbird Farm, added clematis to their line of interesting plants in 2000 and soon discovered that many of their customers were intimidated by these flowering vines. Other customers wanted hard-to-find varieties. To meet these needs, the folks at Hummingbird Farm have researched and experimented, constantly looking for rare and reliable varieties and developing the best techniques for planting and caring for them. Hummingbird Farm sells over 100 varieties of clematis, all disease resistant and hardy to Zone 4.

Since Brian’s passing, Cindy has transformed Hummingbird Farm to a strictly clematis-growing operation, specializing in  “Clematis for the FrozenNorth".The web site, http://HummingbirdFarm.net is full of information on choosing and growing clematis, including The Frozen North Pruning System.

In 2004, Cindy began speaking on “Clematis: Queen of the Flowering Vines” to garden clubs and other organizations. A Power Point presentation covers plant selection, placement, planting, and pruning and is designed to remove the mystique from growing clematis. Not sure which clematis to choose? Intimidated by pruning? This presentation will help! And yes, handouts are provided. Here’s a chance for you to benefit from Cindy’s years of extensive research and hands-on experience.
