Computer Security is Good Business

Computer Security Seminar

Your client information ... what if it was stolen?
  • Personnel records of your employees are breached. You could be sued.
  • Your bank accounts are accessed by a cyber-criminal. Can you afford that?

These and other crises for small businesses can and do happen daily.  But many small business owners think "it won't happen to me" until it does.  Protect your business. Learn how by attending this no charge seminar presented by the National Institute of Standards and Technolgoy (NIST) with the support of the FBI, SBA and SCORE.

You will learn:

  • How to define information security
  • Common best practices to protect your data

You will hear:

  • Examples of common types of threats
  • A basic explanation of current technologies
  • About free resources available to you to protect your business

Presented by Richard Kissel of the NIST
Richard writes informational security guidelines for Federal agencies and has worked in the information security profession for over 20 years.  He is a nationally  recognized expert in computer security and is a Senior Information Security Analyst for the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD.
