How to Raise Capital With a Winning Pitch

About the Course: If you need funding from investors for your startup, the first step is to create a pitch deck, whether you’re looking for $50,000 or $50 million. A pitch deck is your story–what got you started with your business idea, showcasing your product and market demand, sharing your business model and introducing your team - a pitch that compels investors to part with their money! Come learn how to make this daunting task easy.

Course Outline: Focuses on preparing the entrepreneur or small business owner on "what and how to" present their ideas to investors for captivating their interest and trust, and eventually their investment.

Learnings: In this hands-on, instructor-led workshop, you will learn with practical examples, how to answer the following questions:

  • What is the story behind your idea?
  • Does the market need your product? Who is your target market?
  • Who is your competition? What is your differentiator?
  • Do you have customers? What is your revenue? Can you provide financials?
  • How much money do you need from investors?
  • Return on investment - what promise can you make to the investor?
OKAY, you have the pitch deck. How do you present it? Learn the Three-Question approach to a dynamic pitch to investors.

The class is interactive with time for teamwork and case examples.

She spent over 20 years in influential marketing roles at companies such as IBM, GE, and Dun & Bradstreet. Mala has delivered communications courses or talks for Cognizant, Meltwater, Lincoln Financial, The Hartford, Comcast, and more, across the US. She is a mentor of Connect Springboard helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas to market. She has an MBA in Marketing and MA in Sociology.
