Start-Up Series: Develop a Financial Plan for Your Business

The capability to plan ahead is a critical skill for successful entrepreneurs.  A comprehensive financial projection is an absolutely vital tool for planning and managing your business, in both its startup and operational phases.  Not only is this plan (sometimes referred to as a “pro forma” financial statement) necessary for successful operation of your company, it will be a major element of a formal business plan, should you decide to apply for a business loan, or to attract investors.

In this workshop, we will address the structure and content of a financial plan for a small business, beginning with a most simple case and progressing to a comprehensive plan for a more complex business -- thus, you can develop a template for your plan that will fulfill your financial planning needs but not be unnecessarily complicated. Included in the workshop will be work periods during which you can draft key components of your financial plan.

While not absolutely necessary, we strongly suggest that you develop the Business Model for your business prior to taking this workshop.  We offer a workshop -- “Develop Your Business Model” dedicated to this task.
