Voices from the Heart: An Evening with Emily Righter is a celebration of the people who built and supported the Franciscan Center over the past 44 years as well as those whom the Center has helped.

Please join us for an evening of cabaret-style music, enchanting voices, and breathtaking views at the Legg Mason Tower, 4th Floor Terrace, overlooking Baltimore's historic Inner Harbor.  Guests will enjoy an intimate performance by renowned opera sensation Emily Righter, along with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a light supper. 

 Ms. Righter is a principal performer at Salzburg Landestheater in Austria. Prior to her work in Europe, Ms. Righter made solo debuts at Carnegie Hall and Vero Beach Opera.  She performed with Chicago Opera Theater, Opera Circle Cleveland and with Santa Fe Opera. She received her Masters Degree at Yale University and earned a B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. Ms. Righter is eager to share her exceptional talents to benefit the Franciscan Center. 

The Franciscan Center, founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Baltimore in 1968, is an outreach agency with a mission to provide emergency assistance and supportive outreach to persons who are economically disenfranchised in an effort to assist them in realizing their self-worth and dignity as people of God. The Center provides support to Baltimore City residents including dining services, a clothing and toiletry program, utility assistance, eviction prevention, counseling and case management, access to medical care, and more.

The Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi have been quietly serving the orphaned, forgotten, poor and homeless here in Baltimore for over a century. They have given hope and care to countless families. Please honor us with the privilege of introducing you to their legacy through the voices of those whom they continue to impact.
