How to Strengthen Enrollment and Retention by Supporting “Parents as Partners” in Schools... In the True Montessori Way

Does your school deliver the Parent Experience in the true Montessori Way?

A critical priority of enrollment management is retention of current students. It is essential to understand the parent needs, and how each school can deliver on this need of the parent as the customer.

We will share several years of research as well as Renee’s findings on her Spring 2018 sabbatical that brought her to visit and meet 65+ Montessori schools in US and world-wide. She found critical similarities to the challenges of understanding what parents want from their child’s school experience.

Come discuss and see how partnerships with parents can enhance retention and enrollment, student success, build strong school communities and strengthen parent commitment to your school. Learn ways to support parents in their own personal growth and development to help them feel more confident and less worried about parenting.

Recommended Audience: Admissions Directors and Heads of School

This presentation will open minds to see how to partner with parents, one parent at a time, to assure each child reaches his/her highest potential. By modeling to administrators and teachers a new way to look at parents and to see the value and benefits for the child as well as retention that when the parent is connected to the school and its missions and applies it in their parenting. Parents are not confident in their parenting skills and schools can help this. Parents go through their own developmental stages as the child grows and when, in partnership, the parent can become more confident, thereby freeing the child to grow and learn as a unique individual that s/he is. When successful, both the child and the parent will have a transformational experience through their individual stages of growth and development, and retention will strengthen!

Each school is welcome to send two staff people to this event.

Did you attend our spring event last year? 2018 MSM Admissions/Marketing Workshop Follow-Up

Geordie Mitchell, Director of Enrollment Management and Strategic Initiativess at BB&N, gave a presentation to admissions directors and heads of school. He spoke on the benefits and unique aspects of Montessori and explained the importance of connecting that information with research and data in your daily conversations, on your website, and in your promotional materials. This will help to increase a parent’s understanding of the true value of Montessori.

This topic will be discussed further at this year’s April event on the 29th. Please come to the conference with your school’s materials and communication initiatives you used that incorporate Geordie’s message from the Unpacking of Montessori. We will share our ideas on how we are improving communication with families to build closer relationships within our Montessori communities.

If you attended last year’s marketing workshop led by Geordie Mitchell and your school has worked on his “benefits of Montessori education” assignment,  we encourage you to send a slide depicting your school’s work to: smahaney@summitmontessori.org by no later than April 25. Submitted slides will be briefly shared prior to Renee’s talk.
