Virtual Donor-Driven, Mission-True Fundraising in a post Covid-19 world!
Most nonprofits know their fundraising will be impacted by COVID-19 but few know exactly how to respond. The pandemic comes during a time when many nonprofits had ramped up their fundraising efforts to cash in on the record levels of charitable giving. Worst still, is if your fundraising is based on events that are now off limits due to social distancing. This highly relevant and timely session on major gifts fundraising will cover new ground and provide specific strategies to leverage this era of social isolation for those nonprofits who want to be proactive. You will learn why a “Culture of Philanthropy” drives successful fundraising… but this culture cannot be mandated. Great fundraising nonprofits are not born, they’re built and this session will teach you how!

1. How to elevate the Board and staff’s competency in fundraising and their role in your campaign
2. Demystify how to find new donors and new dollars in Western Virginia
3. Five steps to raising major gifts that work in an era of social isolation
4. How to design and host highly impactful “virtual” fundraising events

Speaker:
John Curtis, Ph.D. founded IOD, Inc. in 1986 and he has 30+ years of experience providing a wide array of capacity building and fundraising consulting services to nonprofit organizations of all types and sizes. He also teaches fundraising, strategic planning, board development, and change management for the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy at Rollins College in Florida, the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and the Duke Nonprofit Management Program in North Carolina and Virginia.
