2019 Health Care Legacy Leader Honoring 

 

You are cordially invited to an intimate honoring of former State Representative George Eighmey, the 2019 Legacy Leader in Healthcare. This event is sponsored in part by Heatherington Family Foundation, The Standard, Pride Foundation, Classic Piano, Morel Ink, Bill Dickey, Tyler Smart, Terry Bean, Tyee Winery, Modern Times Beer, and Christine Azar Chocolates. The simple program includes a few words from Mayor Sam Adams, and others you will note- plus a special musical performance by Tom Grant. Beer, wine, and dessert will be served with ample time to chat with a few of your favorite people.

The event is October 24, 2019 from 6:30-8:30PM at Classic Piano's private recital salon at their headquarters on Southeast 12th and Powell.

Tickets are $100 each. $75 is tax deductible in support of Health Care for All Oregon a 501c(3) education and advocacy organization.

About Rep. George Eighmey- Serving in Oregon's House of Representatives from 1993 to 1999, he was an advocate for the Death with Dignity Act, which was passed in 1994 after a statewide vote. He is also credited for getting acupuncture and in home midwifery services added as reimbursable by insurance companies, making medical marijuana legal, and supporting patient rights on many levels from Board Leadership at Our House of Portland to testifying on behalf of patients in front of state and national lawmakers. He is currently the Board President of the Death with Dignity National Center and recently married his partner of 38 years, Peter Livingston. Rep. Eighmey is a US Air Force veteran and is currently retired.
