Presented by Thomas Hall, MA, CBIST
Assistant Vice President for Clinical Services
Developmental and Cognitive Services Division

This presentation will focus on the potential intersection of neurological and psychiatric symptoms in the evaluation of mental illness. Disorders related to neuro-pathology at times can mimic psychiatric symptoms, and when taken into consideration can inform a broader range of therapeutic approaches both pharmacological and therapy-based.  The presentation will include an overview of brain-behavior relationships, brain function and development as well as specific epileptic and frontal lobe disorders.  Attendees will also be provided guidance related to assessment to rule in/out brain disease as a contributing factor in a person’s mental health presentation.

A certificate of attendance will be provided to all attendees along with a list of the learning objectives to be used as evidence of continuing education for CBIS and other certfications.  We recommend that you hold on to all training materials provided at the session.
