How to Assess Employee Risk And Reduce Your Exposure

Course Description:
In this course we will discuss your role as the risk manager for your practice in the employment arena. We will talk about the red flags that arise when disciplining employees; how to create a paper trail to reduce liability to the practice; what to listen for from your employees that might tip off a potential claim. We will discuss Employment Liability Practices Insurance, including whether this is right for your practice and what policy limits make sense for your business. We will answer your questions regarding employment issues, including how to avoid a bad hire, background checks, drug testing, workers’ compensation claims and how they intersect with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and termination procedures.
Registration begins at 5:30pm Dinner will be served

Gary Benson, Esq. Gary was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1965. He emigrated to the United States in 1974, and grew up in Denver, attending Manual High School. Gary received his B.A. from Beloit College in 1987 and a J.D. Degree from the University of Denver, College of Law, in 1990. Gary has practiced his entire career with his partners and friends, Geri O'Brien Williams, Steve York, Melissa Evans, David Dworkin and Greg Chambers. The relationship that Gary has with his partners makes coming to work every day a fun and energizing experience. Gary's family is the most important thing in his life. He is married to Sherry and is the proud father of a 10 year old son, Logan.
