With Nancy Salwen of Music All Around
Join Nancy Salwen, of Music All Around, in a hands-on, informational session demonstrating the many benefits of making music collaboratively in a business setting.
Making music collaboratively:
Nancy's work is based in the belief and experience that everybody has music inside them that wants to come out, and that with the right kind of guidance we can all make beautiful music together. The skills we employ to join together in a musical experience are the same skills that form the basis of a positive and productive work environment: cooperation, mutual respect, listening, verbal and nonverbal communication, creative problem solving, mutual support, acceptance of new ideas, willingness to compromise, and more. Join her for this creative hour, and see for yourself! Absolutely no musical experience required.
The owner of Music All Around, a Keene-based business, Nancy is on a mission to create accessible community music making opportunities for people of all levels of musical experience. She teaches Music Together for young children and their families, early childhood music in schools, and singing to "non-singers" through her program, "Fear of Singing: Learn to Sing Even if You Think You Can't Carry a Tune." She facilitates community music improvisation experiences and leads musical team-building and staff-development workshops for businesses. She is part of the "Music for People Musicianship and Leadership Program", and is a Natural Voice Practitioner.
Cost: free; registration is required for attendance at this workshop.
