Listening, It's VERY Professional!

With Robert C. Schaumann, SCORE

It’s estimated that business professionals misinterpret the intended meaning of what they hear in about 70% of all communications.  They hear the words… but likely miss the meaning or apply their own interpretation (which may be different than the sender's message)!

In the business environment, effective LISTENING is one of the most valuable business skills.  According to a joint study by the United States Department of Labor and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) titled “Workplace Basics,” we use the skill of listening in over 55% of what we do each and every day.

Ironically, we receive the least training and education in this critical business skill area.  The average American’s level of listening efficiency is only about 25%.

This half-day highly interactive (and enjoyable!) workshop provides an opportunity for participants to learn about their preferred listening style(s).  Participants markedly improve their listening skills while, at the same time, help co-workers and customers to want to listen more closely to them.

This workshop is HIGHLY interactive and ensures that ALL audience participants are contributing and gaining value.

By session's end, each participant has clearly identified that which they do well when it comes to listening … and that which they are willing to commit to doing more effectively.

Participants work with different groups throughout the session to experience their colleagues' listening behaviors and improve their own.  They are engaged in thinking and realization.

Of all the things that customers and employees most value when interacting with entrepreneurs, it is one’s ability to demonstrate good listening.  Simply speaking, the best listeners always make a positive impression.

There is a $20 fee for this workshop payable to the workshop leader for a Listening Skills Profile that you will receive as part of this workshop.
