An Evening Celebrating Julia Child 

Join IPTV for An Evening Celebrating Julia Child Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m. in the Maytag Auditorium, complete with music, delicious cake, wine and discussion of our favorite French chef.

• Hear about Julia's life and impact on American cuisine by three Dames of the Greater Des Moines Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, a nonprofit that helps women in the food, beverage and hospitality industries.
• Witness the Iowa premiere of Des Moines Metro Opera Presents Bon Appetit! by acclaimed mezzo-soprano Joyce Castle who portrays Julia as she prepares Le Gateau au Chocolate l’Eminence Brune (a chocolate cake). The 20-minute opera will be livestreamed on a large screen in the Maytag Auditorium for this special event.  
• Taste a slice of this delicious cake baked by the Iowa Culinary Institute at DMACC and enjoy a glass of wine. 
• Revel in watching early episodes of the master herself from The French Chef. 

Tickets to this one-of-a-kind event are $20 per person.
