LINK TO SPRING TECHNICAL CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

The Technical Committee and Conference Committee Chairs have provided a fine selection of technical presentations in a variety of civil engineering disciplines.

The Plenary Session will be led by Craig Thompson, Executive Director of the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin. Thompson is a veteran legislative and policy analyst with more than 20 years of experience working with Wisconsin businesses, communities, legislators, and units of government. This presentation will cover an update on the status of the transportation funding situation in Wisconsin as it pertains both to the revenue side and the outstanding needs or expenditure side.  Also, an update on the Just Fix It campaign which has been a broad, grass-roots effort to raise awareness about the conditions of our transportation network with the media and decision-makers.

The Lunch Presentation will be provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. This presentation will cover the many infrastructure modifications necessary for the development of the large manufacturing facility for this famous multinational electronics company.

An afternoon Ethics Presentation, “The ASCE Canons and Case Histories,” will be led by John Frauenhoffer, PE, SE, and will explore the ASCE Canons of Ethics through case histories of imperfect ethical behavior. Attendees will be invited to offer their own observations, experiences, and questions. This will be a secondary plenary session, and will provide one of the two elusive ethics PDHs needed for the fast-approaching end of the biennium renewal period.

Three Technical Sessions are also offered throughout the day, covering a variety of specialty areas including structural, geotechnical, construction, environment & water, transportation, and management. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive the 6 PDHs offered from this conference.  We look forward to having you join us on Friday, March 16 at the 2018 ASCE Spring Technical Conference!
