Big6 Associates and Library Media Connection magazine are pleased to present this series of Big6 by the Month issues. LEARN - Read Implement Comprehensive Information Literacy Instruction articles in Library Media Connection (LMC) and complete the assignments in each issue. Six articles in the series.

EARN -  Upon successful completion of assignments, earn official Continuing Education Units. Old Dominion University (ODU) will mail an official CEU certificate to you for proof of professional development credits you earn. You may earn 1 CEU or up to 6 CEU credits.

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Big6 by the Month focuses attention on one Big6 stage at a time during the academic year. For each skill we target the standards students need to achieve, we identify how and when to apply the Big6 skills within the standards-based curriculum, we offer strategies to measure student success, and we suggest attainable methods to report information literacy skills growth to administrators, parents, students and stakeholders.

While you complete each assignment you will develop a customized, comprehensive information literacy program that includes your state standards, your subject/grade level benchmarks, and your students' needs. Information literacy is too important to be hit or miss. This course is based upon the successful "Big6 by the Month" webinar series, but goes a step farther to allow you to earn CEU credit.
