Celebrate Worcester's 100th Anniversary of Suffrage Victory on City Hall Plaza

Join Worcester Historical Museum in celebrating Worcester's 100th anniversary of suffrage victory on City Hall Plaza. On August 26, 1920, Worcester celebrated suffrage victory on City Hall Plaza, under the charge of Mrs. Robert K. Shaw, chair of the suffrage worker celebration committee. Mayor Peter F. Sullivan gave permission for the fire whistles to sound and all church bells to ring at noon to mark the demonstration similarly carried out all over the country. The celebration included a suffragist procession from City Hall to City Plaza carrying a brand-new banner "Worcester League of Women Voters, Non-Partisan". Join WHM at City Hall Plaza for this reenactment.
