What would it be like to live in colonial times? Don your cocked hat and join us for each session of the HIstory Hat Club as we explore an aspect of everyday life in colonial America!
The History Hat Club is for kids ages 6-10 and meets on the third Thursday of June, July and August in the Dutch House Garden. Each History Hat Club session explores a different facet of colonial life using hands-on activities designed just for children.
Session Three - To Flavor or Treat Fever - Explore the many uses of herbs and spices in colonial times. We will brew mint tea & take it the Dutch way as we make lavendar sachets to protect against bugs!
Registration includes one adult chaperone (required) and one child. Each registered child will receive a cocked hat (tricorn) to wear during the History Hat Club meeting. Children will complete a craft during each session. Craft supplies are not provided for chaperones.
In the event of rain, the History Hat Club will meet in the Arsenal at 30 Market Street, New Castle, DE 19720.
