Target Audience: Regular content network teacher-leaders and additional teachers who are interested in learning how to incorporate reading and writing into their science or social studies classrooms.

Description:Literacy Design Collaborative for Science and Social Studies is a workshop designed for regular content network teacher-leaders and additional teachers who are interested in learning how to incorporate reading and writing into their science or social studies classrooms.  Whether it is determining the kinds of reading materials to use with your students or how to ask the right questions to get them writing, LDC has tasks, tools, instructional skills, and a framework for modules to help you have a literacy rich classroom that will actually help your kids better learn the content you are teaching. NOTE: You will receive an email a couple of weeks before the meeting asking about your experience with LDC, your content preference and your teaching grade level.  Please be sure to send that information back so we have the correct materials prepared for you.

GUESTS/UNREGISTERED POLICY

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
