Scaffolding Struggling Students: Writing Supports for Intervention, 7-7-16 

Speakers:  Lisa King & Laura Smith

Target Audience: K-5 teachers, interventionists, special education teachers, instructional coaches, RTI coordinators

Description: This session will focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 writing interventions for elementary students.  An overview of HB69 requirements and the Kentucky Systems of Interventions will be provided. Additional topics included will be KCAS, program reviews, designing intervention plans, assessment, progress monitoring, and research based strategies for struggling writers.  Participants will leave the session with a deeper understanding of interventions for the struggling learner, and resources for designing and implementing writing interventions at the school level.
