The Conceptual Building Blocks is a series of three modules designed to build a teacher’s capacity to work with students in various settings. The approach is rooted in a conceptual understanding of key concepts in middle school mathematics. The objectives are:
This module uses the middle school Kentucky Academic Standards around geometry to focus our work. We will explore the big ideas of geometric thinking, including the van Heile levels of geometric thought, discover how to use the concreteàsemi-concreteàabstract sequence of instruction, explore misconceptions, and much more!
Note: This is a two-day module. Attendance at both days is expected.

Attendance Policy:
If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
