7-19-17 Youth Mental Health First Aid

Speaker: Patty Whitney and Meghan Martin  

Target Audience:  Middle, High, Alternative School Staff (certified and classified) and any others that work with 6th grade students and older. Parents, Grandparents and Community partners that work with 6th graders and older are also invited.

Description:  Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a training that is evidenced based and is designed to help participants feel confident and comfortable to approach a youth experiencing a mental health challenge, mental disorder, or a mental health crisis and then refer the youth to a professional if needed. The first aid is given until appropriate help is received or until the crisis resolves. Mental Health First Aid does not teach people to diagnose or to provide treatment.

GUESTS/UNREGISTERED POLICY

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
