Welcome Reception (Sunday)

Please join the attendees, presenters, sponsors and RAA staff at the Welcome Reception Sunday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Spouses or significant others are welcome. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Dress is casual for the reception.

Inflight Seminar Overview (Monday-Tuesday)

The Inflight Seminar will feature six sessions including discussions that will delve into key issues such as employee generational differences, FMLA guidelines and strategies, ADA accommodation, effective Inflight organizational structures, and airlines’ social media responsibilities. Additionally, we will hear FAA perspectives on cabin safety culture and FAA policy. The schedule this year will include the always popular Small Group Breakout round table. A favorite last year, the agenda will include “Ask the Attorney” giving attendees to the opportunity to receive insight and guidance from Ford & Harrison’s experienced legal staff.
$275 (speakers or panelists may deduct $75)

Human Resources Seminar Overview (Monday-Tuesday)

The Human Resources Seminar provides attendees with the opportunity to receive the latest employment law interpretations and court rulings. This keystone session will cover case law and quickly changing trends affecting the airline industry today. This seminar will feature six sessions featuring real challenges. Topics will include and how airline HR professionals successfully resolved them. The schedule this year will include the always popular Small Group Breakout sessions Round Table. We will again highlight the Ask the Attorney sessions, which was incredibly popular when it was introduced last year. One of the goals of RAA seminars is to strengthen the network of HR professionals so they continue to work for the attendees long after the seminar end. The schedule will include several opportunities designed to help attendees become a part of the industry’s network of industry leaders.

Anti-Drug & Alcohol Misuse Seminar Overview (Tuesday-Wednesday)

Back by popular demand, RAA will hold the Drug & Alcohol Testing Seminar the afternoon of Tuesday, August 5th and concluding around noon on Wednesday, August 6th. This set of sessions will focus on drug and alcohol use prevention policies and regulations. This year we are focusing on several hot topics including:
•    HIMS
•    Suspicion Awareness – The ins and outs of reasonable suspicion and how to apply it.  
•    Problem Testing – review of especially challenging scenarios
•    State Legalization of Marijuana and its effects on your safety sensitive as well as non-safety sensitive positions
•    and much more.
We are pleased to also have several opportunities for networking with your contemporaries as well as several opportunities for you to ask questions of your peers.  Our key sponsor and partner, FirstLab will be hosting a welcome reception just for the attendees.   This seminar is a “must” for any staff involved in Drug and Alcohol testing policies, and is a great way to learn from the experts and your peers

C-DER Certification Training (Monday – Tuesday)
 
WHAT:  C-DER Certification – Take the official training and earn you C-DER designation.
WHEN: All day Monday, August 4th through noon time on Tuesday, August 5th
WHERE:  Don Ceasar Resort, St. Pete Beach, FL
HOW MUCH:  $300 – This represents a $50 savings over the normal cost!  

C-DER Certification

The DER Certification course is to provide instruction and resource material that enables the DER to:
•         Fully understand the role of the DER in the drug testing process.
•         Define issues that arise during the drug testing process and actions required.
•         Explore the DER’s relationship with other players in the testing process, including C/TPAs, collectors, MROs, EAPs, laboratory personnel, and SAPs.
•         Ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations
•         Better serve the employees and company by being knowledgeable about the entire mandated drug and alcohol testing process
•         Implement practical application of industry standards and procedures.
 
At the conclusion of the training, all participants will take a certification test to receive the C-DER certification.  Successful completion gets you a certificate as well as allowing you to place the designation C-DER after your name.
