Starting a "Logic War" : A hands-on event.  Bring your laptops!

The next Central Virginia ISSA event is at Mekong Tuesday, October 8th, 2019.  Beverages will be served beginning 5:45 PM and the presentation will start at 6 PM. 

At the meeting, you will have access to tasty craft beers, wine, delectable  appetizers, and most importantly a hardy discussion on current Information Security issues and challenges lead by knowledgeable practitioners.

Darren Cathey from Logrhythm will present a unique meeting format that will begin with a quick start to the Logrhythm Platform, then divide people up into teams for an hour-long exercise to solve challenges using some basic threat-hunting techniques. It is a fun way to introduce you to the world of SIEM, techniques for threat hunting in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Of course, there are prizes at the end, too.

Darren has several decades of experience in programming, operating systems, and applications security. His multi-functional experience in engineering, marketing and sales lends itself well to supporting both SMB and Enterprise customers in the Mid-Atlantic territory as a Sr. Systems Engineer.
