Grief and Mourning During COVID-19

Wednesday, June 17, 2020
9 AM to 11 AM
Virtual Zoom Webinar for 2 CECs

Join Cheryl Green, PhD, DNO, RN, LCSW on June 17 for a program that addresses grief and bereavement issues experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Evidence-based techniques that social workers can provide to support their clients subsequent to a traumatic event will be presented as well as how grief and bereavement, in the absence of mental processing, can further traumatize clients.  Present circumstances including social distancing preclude traditions that help us mourn and process our grief.  Our isolation from one another and from what used to be “normal” can lead to anxieties, stress, and mood change.  What are the best ways to provide mental health support as quarantines begin to lift?

Cheryl Green, PhD, DNO, RN, LCSW is a social worker and registered nurse with experience in providing mental health care to clients with an acute presentation, in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  She is also an Associate Professor at Southern CT State University and Off-Shift Nurse Leader at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
