Join the Utah Center for Architecture for the celebration of Architecture Week! In honor of Thomas Jefferson, our nation's architect, we invite the public to join brown bag lunch talks, walking tours, and a presentation of "BOX CITY" - a city dreamed up and built by some of our state's most creative young minds. Let's celebrate where we live!

This program will be held in the SLC Main Library, Downtown SLC, Urban Room. See the colorful and imaginative Box City created by over 250 elementary school kids and the EECTA Committee (Educating Elementary Children Through Design), based on an 8-week exploration of the art and science of design!
This program will be held at the SLC Main Library in the Auditorium. The controversial design of the new federal courthouse in Salt Lake City has kicked off a debate about what our most important public buildings should look like. This presentation will take you from early American civic buildings as proposed by Thomas Jefferson to today’s sleek, security-conscious structures. What do these buildings say about our ideals, our changing views of government, and the evolution of design?
This program will be held at the AIA Utah office, 268 S. State Street, #190, 84111. Who are the architects behind Utah’s post-War building boom? What buildings did they design? How did they view the design process? In this informal brown-bag presentation, you’ll find out about research currently underway to answer these questions, and see the first profiles of mid-century architects. Comments and suggestions will be welcome.
These tours will be held in 4 locations, beginning at 4:00PM. See www.utahcfa.org for tour details.
