Caroline Fitzgerald presents "Black Sails" 
Thursday, July 10 at 7 pm, upstairs at Napi's Restaurant 

New Zealand writer and film-maker Caroline Fitzgerald discusses her latest project, BLACK SAILS, a documentary that explores the relationship between Maori hunters and New England whalers in the first half of the 1800s. She will be joined by Jan Ferguson, whose family own the Butler Point Whaling Museum in Mangonui, NZ.

Dr. Sylvia Earle, Marine Biologist and Explorer
Saturday, July 12 at 3:30 pm at the Hiebert Marine Lab, Provincetown 

World renowned marine biologist and explorer Dr. Sylvia Earle discusses our changing views of the ocean and its inhabitants.

Dr. Earle ("Her Royal Deepness") was the first female chief scientist of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and was named by Time Magazine as its first Hero for the Planet in 1998. In 2009 she  founded Mission Blue, a non-profit organization that aims to establish marine protected areas (dubbed "hope spots") around the globe.

Join Center staff and Board members for a private whale watch aboard the Dolphin Fleet. Chat with Center scientists, enjoy a picnic supper with complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks, and see some of the ocean's most magnificent creatures in their own backyard.

Don't miss this unique cruise! Not only are sunset and moonrise concurrent, but the historic whaling ship Charles W. Morgan will be moored in Provincetown Harbor, providing spectacular views for guests aboard the Dolphin. Book early, space is strictly limited.
