NNA District 1 Breakfast and a CEU 

Join us at Adele's in Carson City for breakfast and a discussion of the role of nurses and other HCPs in recognizing, assessing and treating /referring potentially dangerous youths. Robert Kinscherff, PhD, JD, a clinical/forensic psychologist and attorney, and nationally recognized expert, will provide insights.

The event is free for NNA members. Non-members will pay $15 to cover the cost of breakfast. 1 nursing CEU pending.

Robert Kinscherff, PhD, JD is a clinical/forensic psychologist and attorney with more than thirty year of experience in child protection, juvenile justice, forensic mental health, and Juvenile Court systems.  He serves as faculty in the doctoral clinical psychology program of William James College in the Concentration in Forensic Psychology and the Concentration on Children and Families of Adversity and Resilience.  He is also Senior Associate at the National Center for Mental Health and Juvenile Justice, and Science Faculty for the Center for Law, Brain and Behavior (CLBB) at Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard Medical School).  He recently completed a two-year Senior Fellowship in Law and Applied Neuroscience for Harvard Law School and CLBB, and is a planning team member for joint projects of CLBB, Harvard Law School, and the Federal Judicial Training Center.  Dr. Kinscherff has previously served in senior leadership positions in state forensic mental health administration, the Massachusetts Trial Court statewide system of juvenile court clinics, and for clinical care providers for high-risk youth.  He provided technical assistance and training for the MacArthur Foundation juvenile justice Models of Change initiative and other innovative initiatives in juvenile justice, and teaches and consults nationally and internationally to multidisciplinary professionals, federal and state policy-makers, and local communities.
