Entrepreneurship and the Rural Community: That’s the theme of CLEDA’s upcoming Quarterly Innovation Luncheon. It will take place on Monday, February 11 at 11:45 AM in the Convention Room at Alexandria City Hall.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Mark Rabenstott, an entrepreneur and global thought leader. He co-founded and is Chairman of MarketSquare, a company delivering the first of its kind Smart Food Chain—a digital farmer’s market that delivers better choices and better prices to everyone in the food chain and authenticates healthy food from farm to kitchen.
I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Drabenstott when I was at Southern Growth Policies Board. At that time, he had capped his 25 year career at the Federal Reserve by founding the Center for the Study of Rural America where he advised the FOMC, Congress and other policy bodies on rural and agricultural issues.
At a time when rural economies face relentless pressure, Dr. Drabenstott’s comments are particularly important to the future of Central Louisiana.
