Cell Phone Technology in Criminal Investigations

Everyone has heard about the prevalence of cell phones in criminal investigations. Technology exists that is currently being utilized to convict thousands of criminals. From homicides, fraud investigations, assaults, etc... this course will demonstrate the basic concepts and methods to utilize cellular records to prosecute criminals.

This course is specifically designed for the investigator to increase their knowledge and effectiveness in the recognition, use and display of information derived from background research and cellular data records.

We will discuss how new access to law enforcement and private databases has enhanced the ability to recognize patterns within targeted investigations.

We will also discuss the impact of cellular records within criminal investigations, the method to acquire
these records, the methods to understand cellular records, and proven ways to display these records in a court of law. The course will also include a detailed overview of comprehending the usage and manner in cellular tower records. It is assumed that the attendee has little or no knowledge on cellular phone usage within criminal investigations. This course will also expose the attendee to commercially available software that effectively displays the information.

Course Purpose: 
The purpose of this seminar is to expose the attendee to proficient and effective investigations utilizing available cellular usage records and location data.

The attendee will leave the seminar with an increased knowledge and proven effective techniques to enhance their criminal investigation.
