Please join us for Women's Weekend at Camp Little Notch! Whether you are a Little Notch Alumni or a first time participant there will be something for you to enjoy. This weekend features dance therapy, art therapy, and massage, plus the magic and traditions of CLN including campfires, singing, s'mores, nature hikes, swimming, boating, workshops, and arts & crafts.

Friends of Camp Little Notch is pleased to host Contradiction Dance during Women's Weekend. In addition to general camp programming, Contradiction Dance will be presenting BOUNDARIES, a dance-theatre response to the #yesallwomen Twitter hashtag and social media campaign that occurred in May 2014 after the Isla Vista killings in which women shared their personal stories about harassment and discrimination on social media. Through movement, text, song, and multi-media BOUNDARIES jumps off from there and explores feminine sensuality, strength and vulnerability. Some of the words used by audience members to describe BOUNDARIES's two successful, sold-out performance runs in Washington, DC earlier this year were: powerful, engaging, poignant, amazing, beautiful, and evocative.

In addition to the performance, Contradiction Dance will hold a Community Workshop where participants will experience a guided warm-up, an introduction to Kelly King’s B.E.S.S.T. definition of dance through movement, and create a personal movement vocabulary to express strength and vulnerability through a specific choreographic structure. Contradiction Dance company members will participate in the workshop, bridging the divide between dance professional and dance enthusiast. All participants will be invited to participate in the performance of BOUNDARIES.

No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please email campdirector@camplittlenotch.org to inquire about participating if you are unable to pay our program fees.

We welcome gender non-conforming and transgender individuals who feel they would be comfortable at this event reserved for women.

This weekend is geared toward recreation and relaxation for adults. Children are welcome but please keep in mind there will be no childcare provided and no scheduled children's programming. All children must be closely supervised by an adult at all times. Older children attending this weekend, boys, girls and gender non-conforming youth, should feel comfortable with the weekend being an event for women.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome but you must bring a hard copy of an updated rabies vaccination certificate. Please note: Dogs are not allowed in the dining hall during meals or meal preparation.

In order to help keep Lakes Pond clean and free of invasive species, we do not allow campers and/or event attendees to bring their own boats, kayaks, canoes, etc. (unless you have a special need that has been reviewed and approved by the camp director prior to your arrival). We do have a variety of watercraft at CLN for your boating pleasure. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

We do offer discounted registration fees for anyone that would like to lead a workshop or help in the kitchen, on the waterfront, final weekend cleanup, or other necessary tasks during the weekend. If you are interested, PLEASE EMAIL Nan@friendsofcln.org BEFORE YOU REGISTER for more info, pre-approval, and to receive the applicable discount code. There are only a few discounts available and they are first come, first served so don't hesitate if you would like to help in exchange for a discount.

PAYMENT INFORMATION:

Payments are handled through PayPal. You are not required to have a PayPal account. You can pay with your credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) — all without having a PayPal account. Complete the registration, then click on the button to pay and follow the "Pay with a credit card" link on the PayPal page (or login to pay via your PayPal account).

Registration fees for this event are NON-REFUNDABLE after June 5, 2015. Please email Kitty@friendsofcln.org prior to that date if you need to cancel your registration.

Note: You can register multiple people on the same registration form by using the "Add Friends/Family" section (please use that section to register children 6-16 years old). However, you will only receive one email confirmation.
