You are cordially invited to attend the third annual International Conference on the Blues, to be held at Delta State University, on October 2-4, 2016. 

Topics of general interest to scholars and enthusiasts alike will be presented, including the African American musical tradition and its influence on American music and culture; the Blues; folklore; history; ethnicity; and the Delta.

Cleveland, Mississippi, recently named by Smithsonian Magazine as #2 of the top 20 small cities to visit in the country, is located 45 minutes from the Greenville (MS) Airport and approximately two hours from the Memphis (TN) and Jackson (MS) airports. Cleveland is the home of the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, which opened in 2016.

DSU faculty and students who wish to attend events as a class should plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes early. (DSU students who plan to attend only a few events and no meals do NOT need to preregister but will sign in prior to each event.)
