The evolution of composite resins has ushered in a new age of restorative dentistry. With the increasing complexity of resin bonding systems and composite resins clinicians are constantly challenged to keep up with this rapidly developing and exciting area of restorative dentistry. This course is designed to help clinicians achieve a high level of success with the placement and longevity of modern restorative materials. During this program clinicians will learn how to:

  • Assess new materials
  • Differentiate between various bonding systems
  • Maximize preparation design for both longevity and esthetics
  • Select proper shades and opacities of materials
  • Place composite effectively
  • Select appropriate matrix systems
  • Establish optimal proximal contacts
  • Create Life-like occlusal anatomy
  • Finish and polish composite to a life-like luster

Photography is now an integral part of the modern dental practice. This powerful tool is essential for patient communication, case documentation and optimal growth of the dental practice. With the use of digital cameras and color printers, clinicians can create quality images quickly and inexpensively. This course is designed to train beginning to intermediate dental photographers on the proper techniques to obtain quality intra and extra oral dental images. Particular emphasis will be place on exposure, framing and composition. Clinicians will be exposed to numerous “point and shoot” and DSLR camera systems. Additionally, the necessary camera equipment will be discussed including: photographic backgrounds, cheek and lip retractors, ring flashes, and photographic contractors. The techniques in capturing various dental images will be discussed and outlined in a simple, easy to follow technique. During this program clinicians will learn how to:

  • Select the appropriate camera equipment for their particular needs
  • Capture well-exposed, quality dental images
  • Program and set-up cameras to optimize depth of field
  • Use digital dental images to increase case acceptance
  • Select the appropriate printer systems and photographic paper
