Class Description:
Create your own beautiful shimmery silk scarf to take home.
Learn the basic steps in creating a unique piece of wearable art! The instructor, Sydney Kreiger, will explain principles of painting on silk with dye and share some specific techniques, to help each participant create a unique and colorful work of art. Each participant will begin with a blank scarf 21 x 21 inches (perfect for a neck scarf, bandana, headband or purse scarf.) Participants will choose their own colors for their project, stretch it on a frame, apply dye, and use a special technique to produce unique and exciting results. The project will then be permanently set, washed, and ready to wear.
Wear old clothes, as dye will stain.
Instructor will provide all materials needed.

About Sydney Kreiger:
Sydney received her M.F.A. at UW-Madison. A professional costume designer and fabric artist, she has worked and taught for over 25 years. Ms. Kreiger is am a member of the Surface Design Association, American Craft Council, and United States Institute of Theatre Technology.
Her work is greatly influenced by Impressionism, Cubism and Abstract Expressionism art movements.
