Death & Dying: A Buddhist Persepctive | Mar 31, 2019

with Visiting Teacher Gen Kelsang Rigpa
We are delighted to offer two events focused death and dying from a Buddhist perspective. The morning event will focus on Buddhist psychology and philosophy about death and dying as well as practical tips that integrate easily into modern life. The afternoon session will focus on more traditional Buddhist ritual practices performed for those who have died. Come to one or both events, everyone welcome!
Based on the book Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

DEATH AND DYING

10:30am-12:00pm
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process, and on how to use an awareness of our death to live a more full and meaningful life. $15 ($10 in advance)

POWA TEACHINGS AND PRACTICE

1:15-3pm
The practice of Powa is a method whereby we can transfer the consciousness of those who have recently died, or our own consciousness, to a pure land. Powa practice explains clearly how we can face our own death, and how we can help those who are dying. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others. $20 ($15 in advance)

$35 for the day
($30 in advance) 50% off for members.
Registration coming soon.
